Hi, I’m the Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries at Journey. I like my car and want to be a dinosaur when I grow up. In my free time I enjoy hiking, computer gaming, and spicy food. For school I received a B.A. in Ministry from Biola, and a M. Div. and Master’s in Counseling from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Youth ministry was a huge part of my life when I was growing up, and God has given me a passion for creating diverse disciple-making communities.
Hi, I’m Betty. I grew up in Taiwan and just came to the States last year! I am a licensed occupational therapist in Taiwan and about to graduate from USC occupational therapy master’s program. I love to explore the nature in my free time. I also enjoy cooking and baking, watching inspiring movies and sports, exercising and more! I like youth ministry because I know that’s a critical time period in life and I’d love to be alongside and support them and see the amazing works that God will be doing in their lives. I am super excited to join the team and I hope to be used by God in a whole new way!
Hi, my name is Michael. I am a senior at CSULB studying Kinesiology: Exercise Science. In my future, I plan to work as a physical therapist to help people recover from injury. I really enjoy playing and watching sports. I have played soccer for a very long time and I currently play for the club team at school. If I’m not training or studying, I am probably hanging out with friends. I enjoy working with youth students because middle school and high school is an optimal time to make decisions about the plans that God has for them.
Hi! My name is Emily and I am a recent graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a BA in Biblical Studies. In the future, I plan to complete dual Masters in Divinity and Masters in Social Work and hopefully pursue further theological studies. I enjoy serving in youth ministry because I love both walking alongside, and learning from our youth as they cultivate an inclusive environment to ask questions and pursue the Christian life together. Because my time in youth group was very impactful to my faith, I want to be able to help provide a listening, learning, and fun space that is just as helpful for our students now! I also just think our students are pretty cool! In my spare time I love to eat, drink coffee, watercolor, watch Gilmore Girls, and hang out with friends.
